Lingerie Guide

Choosing lingerie for yourself can be one of the hardest tasks.

Since our bodies are all so different, it can be frustrating trying to find something that’s beautiful and flatters your body type. Knowing what suits your body type and what lingerie works well for you will help you decide what to wear. There are so many options out there, but I’m hoping this will help make it easier for you to shop for yourself!

Bra & Panty Sets

The most important thing is to choose sets flattering to you!

Make sure your bra fits properly, and nothing is “spilling out” over the sides. As well as that it is well fitted and the area near the armpit is smooth. Beware of push-up bras, they really do not look natural on camera. For a little lift, try a demi cup!

Another important thing to think about is the underwear. Make sure they are not digging into your sides, which can happen if they are too tight.

Check out cheeky and Brazilian options, they give more support while showing just the right amount of booty. String underwear, such as g-strings, typically on the flip-side offer little support.

If the tummy area is a concern for you, try a high waisted set, these can help conceal stretch marks, scars, etc and still show off your gorgeous shape.

Bodysuits & Teddys

Clients love these because they look great on every body.

A teddy is a piece of lingerie that covers the body in one piece - similar to a one piece swimsuit…only much sexier and more sheer!

A bodysuit is similar to a teddy, usually just more opaque. These are technically considered clothing, but are great for boudoir too!

For clients that want more support, there are great pieces with underwire, but the ones without are great too. It all comes down to the posing!

These are great options for hiding areas you may be self-conscious of, while still showing off your shape. Look for details like studs, lace, and anything that highlights your shape, while cinching you in at the smallest part of your waist.

Corsets, Bustiers, and Garter Belts

A corset and a bustier are very similar.

The difference is usually a bustier has a bra built in, and a corset usually does not. These provide some shaping control and also hide the tummy. Pair them with a cute pair of underwear.

A Garter Belt is a belt worn around the waist or hips with attached garters or fasteners to hold up stockings. Sometimes corsets and bustiers will also have strings that dangle from them and we can hook up thigh-high stockings to these, or choose to forego them.

Clothing and Shapewear

Clothing is a fantastic option for boudoir!

Clothing is a fantastic option for boudoir! It might sound counterintuitive but think about a hot leather jacket, ripped jeans and a sexy bra or off the shoulder sweaters/t-shirts. There are so many options for clothing that can be just as sexy, if not sexier than lingerie.

Jerseys do not photograph well. They tend to be thick, heavy, boxy fabric that does not show off your gorgeous shape. Instead, think of using a fitted t-shirt if you want to represent your team!

Covering Up...

Remember you want to cover up and not bulk up.

So try to wear things that are not bulky or too many layers as this can lead to added/unwanted bulk! A slip or a body suit would be a great fit for you!!

Another way to distract from the arms is to wear a long sleeved bodysuit! These are totally a thing, and they're super gorgeous!

Of course if you ever have any questions about your outfits, please reach out and ask! I'm happy to help you prep!

Just the Sheets + Nudes

Do I need to say anything else?!

So many of my clients say that this is the most empowering part of their session! And you may not think you want to do the white sheets but believe me, by the time we are wrapping up with your session, you'll feel confident and decide to take the leap. You're there anyways... might as well do it, right?! They actually tend to be my client's favorite images a lot of the time, too!
